Check in on someone today

You know that feeling when you've been meaning to reach out to someone, but missed that reasonable window of time so you then hesitate to do so? That's how I felt about writing to you. The more time that passed, the more I felt like I should explain where I've been or write something that was worth the wait, and then you wouldn't hear from me at all.

This is when I'm going to overgeneralize and say that there are two types of people: those who never reach out, and those who eventually do. Hi(!), because I do.

Should you still subscribe tomorrow, you'll find a proper SOAR post from me. I wrote it in January and publishing it will be a first in that I've never written and shelved something before shipping; every SOAR post to date has been written and shipped in a matter of hours or days. Separately, there are dozens of pieces that I've written and you've never read, and truthfully, I thought tomorrow's was going to be no different because the real-time-relevance that the topic had to my life has passed. But in chatting with a handful of you over the last few weeks, I found myself thinking back to what I had written and about how relevance is relative.

SOAR was never created to solve anything, but rather spur something - a realization, a conversation, a shift in mindset, a hibernation. Per usual, I hope that whatever you get from reading it is net-positive.

So I'll see you tomorrow! As for today, please check in on at least one person. Perhaps it's with someone you've long been meaning to but never found the words; if that's the case, let this post do the heavy lifting by simply sending and saying that you're also (or trying to be) the type of person who eventually does.
